The 'EU in the classroom' project, an activity on the occasion of the Dutch Presidency of the EU, has had its successful kick-off at the St. Nicolaaslyceum in Amsterdam. This project is a joint initiative of the municipality of Amsterdam, the UvA and ACCESS EUROPE, in collaboration with the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foundation OSVO.

The project aims at bringing together UvA students in Political Science, History and European Studies, EU officials stationed in Amsterdam during the Dutch Presidency, and high school students and teachers from the Amsterdam region. Together they will produce course materials for an EU course which will then be taught at the participating high schools. Part of the course are regular guest lectures by several European public officials.
